World paper company eyes Mozambique

One of the world's biggest paper producers is in forestry trials to set up a $2.3-billion (1.7 billion-euro) paper factory in Mozambique, independent media reported Friday. Portuguese paper mill Portucel is testing the growth of eucalypus trees in the central province Zambezia, according to the O Pais newspaper. “We will be able to start industrial processing between 2020 and 2025,” the paper quoted Portucel administrator Pedro Moura as having said. “It will depend a bit on the pace of forestation and growth so we have a guarantee of supply to the factory.” The development would be one ...
